“The Jews of Champagne at the Heart of Medieval Life”

Starting March 25, 2026, the CARAN – Reception and Research Center of the French Archives will host the exhibition “The Jews of Champagne at the Heart of Medieval Life”, dedicated to the presence and role of Jewish communities in medieval Champagne.

Drawing on historical sources, Latin and Hebrew archival records, and the latest archaeological discoveries, the exhibition highlights their contribution to the region’s economic, social, and cultural life. It also emphasizes the exceptional intellectual legacy of Rashi of Troyes, whose influence extended far beyond the borders of Champagne.

ℹ️ Exhibition designed by the Aube Departmental Archives and Aube en Champagne Attractivité as part of the Medieval Route of Rashi in Champagne, in partnership with the PIC Rashi.

On view from March 25 to June 30, 2026, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Free admission.
