The public interest consortium (PIC) ‘Rashi – Troyes and Aube in Grand Est’ was created on June 30, 2023 to promote the legacy of Rashi and his school of thought, the Tossafists, for their contribution to the construction of a European identity since the Middle Ages.
Supported by the French State, the Grand Est Region, the Department of Aube, the City of Troyes and the Central Consistory of France, this project aims to raise awareness of the memory and influence of Rashi, from Troyes and Aube, by placing this local history in a European perspective.
PIC Rashi is therefore submitting the application for ‘Rashi of Troyes, European place of remembrance’ to be awarded the European Heritage label in 2025.
