The PIC visits Vitry-le-François

On 12 December 2024, the PIC travelled to Vitry-le-François to visit the sites of the former synagogue (closed in 2007) and the Jewish cemetery, together with Jean-Pierre Bouquet – the town’s mayor – and Pierre Rival.

Accompanied by Théodora Jarrassé-Raquillet, member of the Scientific Advisory Board, Joël Samoun, representative of the Central consistory of France, and the association Les Passeurs de Fresques, the visit provided an opportunity to consider the possibilities for developing tourism and promoting Vitry-le-François as part of the PIC’s application for the ‘European Heritage’ label.
